May 15, 2007 Gala was held in the Atrium of Bellevue Hospital Center, First Avenue and 27th Street, Manhattan from 6 to 10 p.m. The Gala honored William J. Constantine, Managing Director of Legg Mason Investment Counsel and Treasurer of The Bellevue Association, and welcomed the East River Science Park to the Bellevue and NYU community.
East River Science Park Signs Lease at Bellevue: The East River Science Park has signed a lease with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation to develop a mixed-use urban life science center on Bellevue Campus, between East 28th and 29th Streets, and First Avenue and the FDR Drive. The East River 'Science Park is designed to become New York City's premier flagship destination for life science clustering, and to dramatically increase the city's ability to retain, grow, attract, and foster collaboration among a broad and diverse spectrum of entities in the life science sector.
Inauguration of the First Annual Dr. Saul J. Farber Public Health Lecture: The first Dr. Saul J. Farber Public Health Lecture was held on November 16, 2006 in the Dr. Saul J. Farber Auditorium in the Atrium of Bellevue Hospital Center. There were ten submission for NYU medical students and the award-wining entry, Primary Hepatitis Prevent for Street Youth: Outcomes of a Medical Student Intervention Program, was presented by Amber Alayyan, Leah Zallman, and Randi Abbani.
